# Introduction

> Welcome to the Bitrace AML API! You can use our API to access Bitrace AML API endpoints, which comprise a comprehensive suite of blockchain and crypto compliance tools to help you equip you with real-time risk detection capabilities, enabling scrutiny of crypto transactions, wallet addresses, and crypto tokens with precision and efficiency.

## What is Bitrace AML API?

Bitrace offers two main API services:

### KYA (Know Your Address)

Analyze blockchain addresses to understand entity information, risk assessments, and risk scores. KYA helps you:

* Identify entities behind addresses
* Assess risk levels of addresses
* Get comprehensive address analysis including counterparties
* Retrieve freeze events and compliance information

### KYT (Know Your Transaction)

Screen transactions for potential risks by analyzing the entire transaction chain. KYT enables you to:

* Screen transactions for risk indicators
* Calculate custom risk scores
* Analyze transaction propagation paths
* Detect suspicious transaction patterns

## Getting Started

1. **Get your API key**: Sign up at [Bitrace AML](https://aml.bitrace.io) to get your API key
2. **Choose your API**: Select between KYA for address analysis or KYT for transaction screening
3. **Make your first request**: Follow our quickstart guide to make your first API call
